I'm conflicted

Honestly, I loved the folk sounds this evoked. When I heard the original version (yes, I discovered these out of order) it was nothing like I envisioned.

I guess it's my job to keep these two separate in my mind so I can enjoy each in its own role. Great job, though.

Reachground responds:

It was very interesting to read your thoughts. I've just added this to Newgrounds. I guess it's a strange experience for people who hear this first.

Did you try the game that the song belongs to?

Funny

I love the tongue in cheek storytelling!

Reachground responds:

Awesome!

Thanks for the 10 :)

Neat!

I really like the way this one built up, and the seemingly random interjection of voices and sounds gave it a unique 'unfocused' energy. I like it!

Short and sweet

Like that girl on the highway, I'd imagine....the drums felt a little off at times, however; their fills not quite in time. But that's hardly noticeable when you're bopping along.

Good work, \m/ (btw, where's the thumb?)

Bad-Man-Incorporated responds:

The fills were in a different time signature. They ARE a bit off time, but that was intentional. Thanks for the review!

Some great things happening here

Nice use of stereo separation! I think you could've used more bass in the balance (which is odd, because I usually find myself wanting less). But otherwise this was a neat mix - fun to listen to!

What can I say?

I'm a sucker for pentatonics. I like the relaxed beat, and the simple piano line is very accesible. A nice mix of voicings here with good balance. Well done!

Very strong imagery

I can't help but see a panoramic landscape over South American jungles (in spite of the instrumentation). A great opener!

I look forward to your next project!

Stereo Separation FTW!

I agree, this is much better with headphones. nice choice in the voicings, there could've been more contrast for my tastes. After about a minute, I like to hear something new, or think that it might change direction.

Otherwise, good work!

AvatarKami responds:

Thanks for the review. I would have liked more contrast and variation but there were only so many loops to use ^_^ . Hopefully FL will help me with variety.

That was pretty neat!

It had just enough to keep busy and not too much that it would weigh itself down. Some of the low end drums sounded clippy (or was that just an effect?) but otherwise "That was pretty neat!"

FatKidWitAJetPak responds:

Cool, so you think the originality was neat or the whole entire thing? Well, thanks for the compliment. =)

Neat!

I like it a lot! It has great form, a rarity among most submissions here!

I am a "gun for hire" - I write all original music for the portal. You can commission me (free, of course) to write an original piece for your movie. I write in any style you want, see my examples in the audio portal.
