Good musicians

You guys are definitely talented, and I liked the stereo separation. For two and a half minutes, though, all I heard was bass, that's it. If you don't already have some, get a few mics on the drums and then play with the depth and stereo to make it sound in the back, not because it IS in the back coming through other mics. Also, back to the bass - it sounded like an overdriven guitar with octave pedal. Play with your settings to get a unique voice that stands apart without being in your face. I find the old adage to be true: less is more.

Now that I've ripped you a new one I have to say this had good energy and was well produced. And like I said there's talent here, just work on your sound.

FUNKbrs responds:

Actually, the drums are mic'ed pretty extensively. The bitch is that tiny as un-soundproofed room we play in. Again, all this was recorded live, and we don't have a sound guy running around loose to tweak the levels out. Compounding this, we record in stereo LIVE, as opposed to multi tracking and having the option to tweak out everything in post.

And by definition, less is NOT more. Less is... well.... LESS. And more is... *pulls out dictionary*
MORE! Imagine that! Now, that's not to say precision isn't a quantifiable metric, because it is. More precision is a lot different than just having less going on. Harmony of the spheres, and all that jargon.

Sorry, I hear "LESS IS MORE" alot, and it bugs the crap out of me. The Beatles sucked. It's true. It's time for music to move on.

All that aside, thanks for the constructive review. I wish more people would bother to give me feed back >:(

Hmm

I've listened to most of your songs now and not one has any form whatsoever. They're just tired loops and samples that repeat ad nauseum. But then again, so is your flash work, so I should stop acting surprised.

BaronVonBadGuy responds:

Awesome, thanks for your consideration and negativity.
